Purpose
This assignment is intended to help you learn to do the following:

2) Analyze different market forces that change demand and supply and determine how the non-price factors impact the pricing of goods and services in the U.S. healthcare system.
3) Analyze market equilibrium and disequilibrium conditions and explain how price and quantity are affected in the U.S. healthcare system.
4) Analyze the Supply and Demand Conditions within various sectors of the healthcare industry.
5) Evaluate current economic issues in developing healthcare policy.

Action Items

1) Review the Health Policy Institute of Ohio (Links to an external site.) website, or the website of a similar organization in your state, to identify a current issue in healthcare policymaking that interests you.

2) Compose a two-page paper in which you:
Provide a brief overview of the issue that you have identified and evaluate its impact on at least one type of stakeholder in the healthcare industry (e.g., patients, healthcare providers, healthcare insurance providers, etc.)
Analyze the supply and demand aspects of the healthcare policymaking issue that you have chosen, or the relevant alternative pricing mechanism (e.g., government funding).
Cite a minimum of three scholarly resources.
Format your paper according to the standards found on Purdue Online Writing Lab: APA Formatting and Style Guide (Links to an external site.).
3) Submit your work by the due date indicated.
