A Strategy on Moral Decision Making

Criteria is strict.  I have included direct links to the referenced readings posted within the assignment directions as well as PDFs of those readings.  Additionally, I have included the PDF of the lecture with additionally readings to utilize if you feel so compelled to include them.  Please let me know if you need access to any others.

A Strategy for Moral Decision Making (total word count of about 250 words)

Label sections a) and b) on your assignment. Stay with the course materials and do not use outside resources or research this week. Recall the total word count of about 250 words. The grading rubric will be used for scoring; the maximum point value of this writing assignment is 25 points.

a)  Choose and explore one section (either I, II, III, or IV) from this weeks reading #6 on Formation of Conscience from the Catechism of the Catholic Church (http://www.scborromeo.org/ccc/p3s1c1a6.htm)  In about five sentences, tell which section stood out to you and why you consider it important.

b)  Refer to this weeks reading #9, the article by Velasquez, et. al. Thinking Ethically (https://www.scu.edu/ethics/ethics-resources/ethical-decision-making/thinking-ethically/)

Which approach explored in the article matches most closely to the methods for making moral decision making from the other course materials this week? In a paragraph or two, explain why you chose this approach how it relates to the other course readings.

You may mention which approach in the Thinking Ethically article seems the least helpful, and how it may be reworked to be more helpful in moral decision making.
