You have just been named as the new National Security Advisor to the President. Even with a new administration, tensions continue with in place sanctions, provocations, support of proxies in Yemen and Syria, and threats of attack. With US forces in the region as a deterrent, Iran claims that illegal and aggressive American presence in the Gulf is causing insecurity in the region.
Meanwhile diplomatic efforts are underway to perhaps have the US rejoin the JCPOA. Additionally, Iran’s Presidential election is scheduled for June and it continues to enrich uranium in violation of the nuclear deal.
